Petition for Exemption; Summary of Petition Received

AGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), DOT.

ACTION: Notice of petition for exemption received.

SUMMARY: This notice contains a summary of a petition seeking relief 
from specified requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations. The 
purpose of this notice is to improve the public's awareness of, and 
participation in, this aspect of the FAA's regulatory activities. 
Neither publication of this notice nor the inclusion or omission of 
information in the summary is intended to affect the legal status of 
the petition or its final disposition.

Petition for Exemption

    Docket No.: FAA-2017-0584.
    Petitioner: Embraer.
    Section of 14 CFR Affected: Sec.  25.981(a)(3).
    Description of Relief Sought: In accordance with FAA Policy PS-ANM-
25.981-02, dated June 24, 2014, the petitioner seeks an exemption from 
the requirements of 14 CFR 25.981(a)(3) with respect to fuel tank 
ignition prevention for the Model ERJ 190-300, 190-400, and 190-500 
airplanes.
