MINUTE ORDER of 2/9/01 by Hon. Sidney I. Schenkier: The plaintiff's motion for preliminary injunction [1-2] is granted in part and denied part. Enter order for preliminary injunction with an asset freeze of $1,651,527.05 of the amount currently held by in account no. 700017538 at the Lake Forest Bank and Trust in the names of Krisnaswami and Rajalakshmi Sriram. Property owned by defendant located in Lake Forest and Arlington Heights, Illinois is not subject to this asset freeze; however, this preliminary injunction order does not affect or alter in any way the order setting conditions of release for defendant in the pending criminal case, in which the property located in Lake Forest, Illinois is posted as security. Defendant's motion for release of excess monies and assets is granted; the alternative request for release of funds to pay living expenses and attorneys' fees is denied as moot. MINUTE ORDER of 2/21/02 by Hon. Sidney I. Schenkier : For the reasons set forth in the attached memorandum opinion and order, defendant's motion for release of funds [43-1] is granted in part. The court hereby authorizes the immediate release of all unfrozen funds in account 700017538 at the Lake Forest Bank & Trust ("Account 7538"), except for $250,000.00, to be used solely for the purposes designated in paragraph 4(B)(i),(ii) of the 4/30/01 Amended Preliminary Injunction Order. Upon a showing that the amount released is insuficient to cover trial expenses, the court at the time of trial will authorize the release of amounts remaining in Account 7538 that exceed $1,651,527.05 (and the interest that has accrued on that sum since 2/9/01) as necessary to pay for trial expenses.
