GPO DESIGNS NEW DEPARTMENT OF
(PDF VERSION OF RELEASE)
WASHINGTON —The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) designed the Department of Commerce’s new Web site. GPO designer Jon Raedeke collaborated with Commerce’s Chief Information Officer’s team on this project. GPO was responsible for designing the user-friendly, mobile-optimized Web site that also serves as a platform to be used by other Commerce entities. Commerce came to GPO for design services based on GPO’s reputation for designing other Government Web sites, such as the Library of Congress’ Open World site, the Commerce’s Stop Fakes site, and the United States China Commission site. GPO was also able to provide Commerce with a Government-to-Government service solution that streamlined the Web site design process.

“Working with GPO was a real pleasure. They assembled a team of professionals who were current on the latest technologies and skilled enough to implement them. We look forward to continued collaboration with the GPO team as we build out an improved customer experience based upon our analytics and customer feedback,” said Mike Kruger, the Director of Digital Engagement for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
“Web site design is one of GPO’s many services available to Federal agency customers,” said GPO Director Davita Vance-Cooks. “Whether it is designing a Web site, developing an app, or converting an eBook, GPO has many Government-to-Government service solutions. GPO is here to meet the information needs of Congress, Federal agencies, and the public.”
