GPO SEEKS OPTIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PARKING SPACE(PDF VERSION OF RELEASE)
The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on options for commercial development of GPO-owned parking space behind the agency's headquarters. Located within the North of Massachusetts Avenue (NOMA) Business Improvement District, the property is on H Street NW, across from one of the District's new Walmart stores. GPO is looking for ways to improve the use of the site while continuing to provide parking for employees who work around the clock to produce the Government information products needed by Congress, Federal agencies, and the public. The information provided in response to the RFI will be used in future decisions by GPO and the agency's congressional oversight and appropriations committees. The RFI is the second initiative announced this month by Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks to improve the efficiency of GPO's operations. Last week GPO announced its intent to request approval to offer buyouts to employees in the first quarter FY 2015.
"GPO's technology transformation as the Government's publisher includes an effort to ensure we are getting the highest and best use of all our resources," said Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks. "We look forward to the concepts and ideas that we will receive in response to this RFI."
