- Premium options are available in GovInfo for searching, displaying, browsing, and featuring content.
- GovInfo provides access to standards-based sitemaps to aid discoverability by major search engines and programmatic access through our Application Programming Interface (API), allowing developers to discover and reuse content, including via metadata-based searches.
- All PDF files on GovInfo are digitally signed and certified and display GPO’s visible Seal of Authenticity.
Long-Term Preservation
- Preservation in GPO’s ISO 16363-certified and CORE Trust Seal-certified Trustworthy Digital Repository.
- Mechanisms for maintaining content integrity and ensuring a trusted chain of custody, assuring users that content is official, complete, and unaltered since being disseminated by GPO.

- The COOP remote disaster recovery site retains near-real-time data synchronization and five-minute failover capability with full content availability and system functionality to limit downtime.

Standalone Digital Signature Application Service
GPO also offers an automated service to apply digital signatures to agency PDF files, separately from the GovInfo workflows.
- Agency PDF files are digitally signed, certified, and display the agency’s seal.
- Agency securely transfers PDF files to GPO for digital signatures, and files are returned for agency use, thereby reducing agency program costs, garnering confidence, and meeting customer needs for secure electronic information.
- Digital signatures verify:
- authenticity of origin to know who signed the document
- document integrity, so your users know there haven’t there been any changes or alterations and trust that this is the official version of the document that hasn’t been altered from the source.
