GPO Launches New Annual Reports Collection on GovInfo

WASHINGTON −The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) has launched a new Annual Reports collection on GovInfo, the one-stop site for authentic, published information for all three branches of the Federal Government. This release will make it easier to find and search for Annual Reports published by Federal agencies. The new collection is available to the public at no cost at https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/annualrep

“Annual reports document the work of Federal agencies and provide an important record of Government operations over time,” said GPO Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern. “By bringing these reports together in a single, searchable collection on GovInfo, GPO is making it easier to discover and access trusted Government information.”

Examples of content available in the new collection include:

  1. Federal Works Agency First Annual Report, 1940: Includes photos and projects sponsored by the Agency, which was established in 1939 to consolidate Federal public construction and work relief programs.
  2. Annual Report of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, 1976: The earliest Housing and Urban Development report to Congress after Section 8 Housing programs were established to help low-income families, seniors, and disabled individuals afford private market housing.
  3. Federal Grain Inspection Service Annual Report to Congress, 2024: A recent report from the agency that establishes and maintains official U.S. grain standards for barley, canola, corn, flaxseed, oats, rye, sorghum, sunflower seed, triticale, wheat, and mixed grain.

GovInfo’s Annual Reports collection provides access to more than 700 annual reports from hundreds of Federal agencies and Government organizations, spanning more than 165 years—from the 19th century to the present. The Annual Reports collection comprises publications from other GovInfo collections that are grouped together based on metadata. The current collection includes content from Congressionally Mandated Reports, GOVPUB, and Serial Set collections. Publications from Congressional Committee Prints, Congressional Documents, and GPO collections will be added in upcoming releases.
