RICHARD G. DAVIS

Acting Chief of Staff and
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)


Ric Davis assumed the role of Acting Chief of Staff on July 2, 2018. In this capacity, he is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and communication of the agency’s strategic initiatives. In carrying out these functions he also oversees GPO’s Programs, Strategy, and Technology business unit as well as the agency’s offices of Congressional Relations, Public Relations, Employee Communications, and Internal Branding and Web Design.

Approaching 26 years of service at GPO, Davis also continues to serve as Chief Technology Officer, a position he has held since 2011. In this capacity, he is responsible for the management, development, and support of GPO’s govinfo (www.govinfo.gov). Davis is also responsible for agency-wide program management for agency programs and strategic priorities.

Biography

Davis has held various positions at GPO including: Director, Office of Programs, Strategy and Technology: Acting Superintendent of Documents; Director, Library Services and Content Management; Director, Office of Electronic Information Dissemination Services. Prior to joining GPO, Davis worked in the private sector at RJR Nabisco.

Davis earned a Master of Arts degree at the College of William and Mary, Bachelor of Science degree at James Madison University, and completed additional graduate work at Virginia Tech.
